20 Habits of Every Fit Girl

We are often asked, "What can I do to get started and reach my goals?"

This is usually a long answer and depending on the person, it can be different for everyone. There usually isn't a cookie-cutter plan for everyone and what will work for every single person.

So we created this list of habits that almost every Fit Girl follows to not only get fit, but to stay fit.

  habits of every fit girl

1. They know a healthy outside starts from the inside

Your mindset and where you are will 100% determine whether you are successful or not in reaching your goals.

We recommend everyone to read or listen to at least 5-10 minutes of personal development in the morning when you are getting ready for the day to get the started right and to help you in what areas that you need in your life currently.

2. They know they can't compare their journey to anyone else

Comparison is the thief of joy.

While it is easy to look at someone else and wish you had what they do, it often is overlooked at how long it took them to get there or what struggles they went through.

You are on your own journey, and that is definitely going to look very different from the person that you admire the most.

3. They never miss a Monday

You've probably heard it before, but it couldn't be more true!

Never missing a Monday means you are setting the tone of the week. Showing up and starting the week right for what's to come when you are kicking ass.

4. They always eat a healthy and well balanced breakfast

Just like starting the week off with working out, starting the day out with a great breakfast is key to starting the day off right.

A good balanced breakfast of proteins, carbs, and fats will ensure you to get a jump start to your day.

5. They workout at least 5 times per week

They didn't all start out workout at least 5 times per week, but now that it is a part of their lifestyle - they make sure they do!

Workout at least 5 times per week ensures that you are working on different muscles, changing up your routine, and helps most stay on track with everything else.

6. They prioritize proteins

They know that protein is an essential macronutrient during the day.

They try to have some form of protein with almost every meal.

7. They start their day with water

Upon waking up, they drink a glass of water.

Not only helps you to wake up, but starts to wake up the digestive system and get everything moving for the day.

8. They lift heavy weights

No, lifting heavy does not make you bulky or look like a man as a girl. What and how much you eat does.

If you are always lifting light weights for you or the same weights, your body will never be challenged enough and you will eventually plateau.

Don't be afraid of challenging yourself and lifting heavy.

9. They read food labels

Whenever considering buying anything new at the store, they read the food labels.

Looking at the ingredients, are there a lot of ingredients that you either can't pronounce or don't know what they are?

Usually a good indicator that it is not the best for you and is more processed.

10. They meal prep

If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail.

Planning even your meals for the day and week can mean all of the difference whether you stay on track or don't.

Having meals prepped and ready to go means that you have meals to take with you and eat no matter what you have going on in your day, which means you stay more on track with your nutrition plan, and reach your goals.

11. They avoid processed foods

Processed foods are filled with chemicals and more unnatural ingredients that are harder for the body to digest and break down.

Try sticking to the foods that are on the perimeter of the store to pick more healthy and natural foods.

The healthier the food, the easier it is to digest and the better the nutritional value is.

12. They pick their carb sources wisely

They know how precious carbs are and how good they are, so they tend to pick them more wisely.

Carbs that will not only give you energy, but digest just as good too. Not leaving you super bloated later.

Brown rice, potatoes, quinoa, etc.

13. They eat plenty of veggies

Veggies are not everyone's favorite but they are the greatest source of vitamins, fiber and more!

Your veggies are important to have to help aide in digestion, giving you essential nutrients, and losing weight as they are usually lower in calories!

14. They don't drink their calories

They opt to drink more water or infused water so that they are not drinking all of their calories.

Calorie filled drinks are typically filled with sugar and sodium, which has little to no nutritional value at all.

Save your calories for food, which will be more filling in the long run.

15. They never take more than 3 rest days in a row

When you are committed in reaching your goals, the worst part is having to feel like you are starting over.

If you end up taking too much time off, you can lose sight of your goals and fall off your routine all together.

Always commit to never taking more than 3 rest days in a row to avoid this happening.

16. They don't focus on the scale

You don't want to obsess about that silly little number on the scale. It doesn't define you!

Every fit girl knows that number is going to continually fluctuate and no matter what it is about how you feel and how your clothes are fitting.

17. They give it 110% in their workouts

Whether you are at home or at the gym, you have to give it everything you got.

Fit girls know and can feel when they didn't give it enough and only look back wishing they had gotten out of their own head and given more into their workouts.

18. They follow a workout plan

Just like a meal plan, having a workout and training plan will ensure that you are still challenged, keeping your body from plateauing.

You don't want to aimlessly wander around the gym and guess what you should be doing when you can confidently walking and know what to do to get you to your goals.

19. They follow an eating plan

Knowing what to eat and how much will ensure you are not starving yourself or overeating.

80% of your results come from what you are eating, so it is the most important part for every fit girl.

20. They enjoy themselves on occasion

Every fit girl knows that you cannot eat healthy 100% of the time. We are human.

It's important to still allow yourself to enjoy foods and on occasion. Just not every single day.
